Finding Real Joy
in Jesus It's ironic that one of the books of the Bible that talks most about joy was written by a person who was in a pretty awful and precarious position. Paul the apostle was unjustly imprisoned and in chains because of his gospel work. He was restricted and dependent on support from outsiders, slandered and deserted by many ‘friends’, and facing an uncertain future with a very real possibility that he’d be executed. Yet he was overflowing with passion and joy at being part of Jesus’ family, and because of all that God had, and was, accomplishing. During the talks we consider what joy is and isn’t, and that having joy in Jesus is both a promise and a command. |

Meet the Speaker
Sue became a Christian a week before starting Adelaide University and has never recovered! She continues to be amazed at God’s grace and kindness and wants others to know Him. She is married to Paul who is a minister in Adelaide. All her children are married and she and Paul now have one gorgeous granddaughter. She loves meeting up with women, teaching the Bible, speaking evangelistically and having many people in their home. Sue has a legal background and operates a consultancy business a couple of days a week providing support for lawyers and doctors. She is very much looking forward to the conference and exploring Philippians together; a great book of joy and hope!
